Join a Soil Association local group
The Soil Association is committed to supporting the development of a local
group network that contributes to the transformation of the UK’s food
culture - groups that are celebrating local organic food; running educational
community events with local farms; organising food festivals; enjoying shared
meals; influencing neighbours' and colleagues' attitudes.
Membership of a Soil Association local group has the following benefits:
- New contacts with a network of people who have shared interests
- Improved access to local organic food
- Opportunities to promote and develop a local food culture
- Learning about issues facing food and farming, e.g. a ‘post peak
oil’ future.
Soil Association local groups can help to create a better future for people,
animals and the countryside at regional and local levels.

Action Organic is a three-year project (2005 - 2008) established to enable
members and supporters of our aims and principles to make a difference locally.
The project supports the development of new Soil Association local groups in
England so that together we can further mobilise the grassroots interest in
food, farming and sustainable living. Action Organic is funded by Defra's Environmental
Action Fund (EAF).
