Quick Search

To quickly search everything in the directory just type a word or phrase in the first box and click search. Your word or phrase could be a type of outlet, a town or village or even a product. Bear in mind most outlets won’t list the products they sell (so searching for chicken will only show outlets that specifically mention chicken).

Example: Looking for a butcher? Type in butcher and click 'search'.
Looking for outlets in Cheddar? Type in Cheddar (this may show up cheese outlets as well!).

Advanced Search

To look for something in a particular location or look for outlets by category, use the advanced search.

What? The first line (I’m looking for:) is where you can choose what you’re looking for. This can be a word/phrase or a category.

Where? The second line (Located in:) is where you can choose where in the UK to search. You can type in a UK postcode or choose a county.

Click 'search' to start searching.

You can combine these two lines or just use one of the lines.

Example: Looking for every vegetable box scheme in the UK? Select 'vegetable box scheme/local delivery service' from the drop down list on the first line. Select 'all locations' from the drop down list on the second line.

Example: Want to see everything listed near your postcode? Select 'all categories' on the first line and enter your full postcode on the second line. The results will include outlets like delivery services that operate in your area even if they are not actually based near you.

Example: Looking for accommodation in Pembrokeshire? Select 'accommodation' on the first line and 'Pembrokeshire' on the second line.

Note: you can only enter information in one of the boxes on each line. So, typing in chocolate and choosing retail shop from the first line will only search for chocolate. In the same way, entering your postcode and choosing a county on the second line will only search using your postcode.

Tips

Add * to a word to look for other words with the same root. Example: veg* will look for veg, vegetable, vegetables, vegetarian, vegan and so on.

If you enter more than one word, that exact phrase will be searched for.
Example: Scottish salmon will only look for the exact phrase 'Scottish salmon'.

Separate words with AND to look for those words in any order.
Example: Scottish AND salmon would show an outlet with 'Scottish organic salmon' in it.

Widen your search by using OR.
Example: Scottish OR salmon will show outlets which include Scottish and outlets which include salmon. You’ll get many more results.

Searching is not case sensitive (so Scottish and scottish are treated the same.)
